I have served in the military with some of the toughest females that I know. The title of the blog is not intended to allude that females are weaker nor that they react differently than men when confronted with an accident, in my opinion, they simply have more to lose! You may be asking how I have the right and/or knowledge to say that...well, because I witnessed it with my own wife. You see, to me my wife is an intelligent, professional and sophisticated woman. She has completed many tasks that I have not or would not even dream of attempting; yet, when she was involved in an auto accident, she froze and did not know what to do!!!
Years later, I asked her why she was so afraid when she had her car accident when I have seen her face far more stressful situations in her life? So naturally, I was perplexed that this accident had caused her so much stress. You see, my wife was a former military sergeant, she completed a Seal Fit Challenge, gave birth to two of our children, graduated from nursing school and I could go on and on. But my point is, those accomplishments or those "stressors" where something that she could control. I have since learned that after the accident, she quickly realized that there are something's that you cannot control no matter how preventative you attempt to be. After the impact, she was not thinking about the actual accident, but what COULD HAVE happened. She was focused on what she could have lost and that my friends is a stressful situation for any female!!!
I did not fully understand nor comprehend the emotional impact that this accident elicited within her, in fact I asked her "why are you so shook up?" The vehicle that she was driving at that time was a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser. The property damage sustained did not appear to be that bad. She appeared to be in good health with no apparent injuries. So, why?
Years later I learned that those cars are very unsafe for families, because if they roll, the doors open and catastrophes happen. Somehow, my wife knew that inside of her, so she felt that she had placed her family in danger. Again, it was not the accident itself, but the "what if!" The female brain is a very complex organism full of mystery. No man can ever understand it completely. A man on the other hand, well we are simpler creatures. Why are we spending time writing about this, well because we want women to know that, when an accident occur in San Antonio, our lawyers understand what you are going through.
Auto accidents are no joke, and we take each and everyone of them seriously; however, we further understand that when a female is involved, its not that they react differently, they have much more to loose!
